This Week's Program
This week's program was a presentation by Ron Culler on his recent trip last month to Mongolia with his wife, Roni. He showed photos of the main square in Ulaanbaatar showing a stage and craft stall presentation by Korean dancers and craftspeople. He also showed a photo of the Russian flag in the square in preparation for the visit by Putin that occurred during Ron's visit.
Next Ron showed photos of the Gobi Desert including his lodging, other places he visited in the desert and Ron riding Bactrian camel. Next, he showed photos of a Buddhist monastery, a Kazakh family "Jer" which is a round tent-like dwelling. He also showed a great photo of the famous Chinggis Kan statue that is 134 feet tall and sits atop a 33-foot coliseum.
Ron discussed each photo and conducted a question-and-answer session. It was a valuable experience to learn about Mongolia from one of our club's members. Thanks Ron, for a very informative presentation!
