The program for this meeting was a talk by Roxanne Stephans, the Mayor-Elect of Hollister.  Roxanne is also a former member of the Hollister Rotary Club, and she was introduced by President Larry Barr who welcomed Roxanne back to the club.

Roxanne told us about her background as a social worker, and why she decided to run for mayor.  She discussed her past and her family's involvement in local government in a small town in Texas.  She related that to her future role as mayor of Hollister.

Regarding her plans for Hollister, Roxanne spoke about listening to various interest groups and having conversations between those groups on common goals.  She said it was ok to have disagreements. but we need to also have conversations. Roxanne she was going to facilitate those conversations.

Roxanne also said she would be working on partnerships to create economic growth for Hollister, working with the state to get the roads improved, and bring back the biker rally.
