Meeting Held at Paine's Restaurant

The meeting was called to order by President Larry Barr at 12:00P.M.
Jeff Modic led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Jeff Modic also gave the Thought for the Day.
Announcements:
Saturday night the 14th of September, Hollister Rotary was honored by the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce as the Club of the Year at the 103rd Annual Awards and Dinner Dance. There were several Rotarians in attendance. Past Presidents Rich Marcus, Gordon Machado, Krystal Lomanto, David Baumgartner. Kristina Wyatt was also in attendance.
The Wheelchair Distribution in Mexico City on September 20-22, 2024. Six people have volunteered, and others are welcome.
Larry announced that the Avenues of Service will be held on October 19th at the India Community Center, 525 Los Coches Street, Milpitas.
We still have cases of soft drinks left over from the Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo. They are available for purchase at $20 per case of 20-ounce bottles of Coke, Sprite, and Root Beer. Larry told the club he will donate any remaining cases to the Interact Club to use for a fund raiser at the high school.
Bill Tiffany announced that there will be a meeting of the Mission 10 committee on Tuesday night at Bryan Yamaoka's cabana at 6:30 pm.

Phil Fortino had the winning ticket for the Small Deck and the pot was worth $60. Phil did not pull a winning card but won a bottle of wine.
Bryan Yamaoka had the winning ticket for the Large Deck worth $74. He did not pick a winning card but also received a bottle of wine.
Detective:
Will Sutton was the detective for the day.
Larry Barr was fined $5 for not wearing his badge.
Larry Shaw was fined for being a good snitch.
Will Sutton fined himself $10 for the birth of his new grandson.
Gordon Machado was fined $5 for not knowing a 49er went to the Raiders. It was Jerry Rice.
Bill Tiffany was fined $5 for not knowing a 49er who played for the Raiders and the 49ers. The answer was Jim Plunkett.
Dave Baumgartner was fined for not knowing what brothers hosted the Emmys. Eugene and Dan Levy of Schitz Creek.
Chang So was fined for not knowing what "Little Reindeers, A Christmas Story" was all about. A woman stalker story.
Mike Sanchez knew what the candy of the times was. Sugar Daddy.
Bryan Yamaoka was fined for not knowing the name of the related candy. Sugar Babies.
Phil Fortino paid a fine, but he knew three banks that once did business inside the building now called The Vault. Bank of America, Bank of Italy, South Valley National Bank, and First Interstate Bank.
Alex Kingman was fined for not knowing three public art projects in Hollister. The statue at Meridian and Hwy. 25, outside the front of the County Administration department.
Esther Curtice was fined for not knowing the third public art project. The bronze statue of Eric Tognazini.
Kyle Sharp was fined for not knowing why Richie Valens is artwork on a local electrical box on 5th Street. He and his sister lived in San Juan Bautista briefly.
