This Week's Program

The program for this meeting was a report on Mission 10 by committee chairman, Bill Tiffany. Bill reported this was the 41st year for Mission 10 which started as a 10-mile race by Ed Singleton.  Later a 5k race was added and 5-mile race, and later a Fun Race for kids. Bill reported our 2025 profit will probably by $36,000 which will go toward scholarships for Hollister High School students. Bill commented that having digital chips on the bibs of each runner makes it easier to get final times.

Bill then called on each person who heads up a team to make Mission 10 be successful. Byan Yamaoka for providing his cabana for committee meetings, making road signs, providing all the services on race day. Rich Marcus for helping get the tables setup and getting the site organized.  Jayme Stewart for organizing the worker duties and directing racers to registration. Larry Shaw and his team for setting up the barriers on the roads and streets.  Kristina Wyatt for getting sponsorships and helping with the promotion. Mike Sanchez for organizing the Fun Run with the kids. Esther Curtice for getting the registration setup and registering all the runners. Larry Barr for getting the Interact club members to provide water to the runners on the course. Dave Baumgartner for passing out flyers about the race.

Bill pointed out it takes planning, organization, and a lot of volunteers to have a successful Mission 10.  He said we could make a larger profit if we can get more sponsorships and that should be a focus for our 2026 Mission 10.  The club gave Bill a standing ovation as recognition of his efforts this year and the past years.  Thanks, Biil!
