Make Your Year End Donations to Rotary
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I hope the year 2015 has been a great year for everyone. I have enjoyed my first six months as your Club President; the time has gone by so quickly. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you all for your support this year.
Even though I am now a non-practicing CPA, my thoughts still shift to thinking about the upcoming tax season, and whether I want to make any last minute tax-deductible expenditures to close out the tax year. As reluctant taxpayers, I know some of you have those same thoughts…how can I avoid paying some of those income taxes.
Well, this year, the Hollister Rotary Club can help you in that regard. We recently established an expendable Rotary Scholarship & Charitable Giving Fund at the Community Foundation for San Benito County, to which you can make a tax-deductible donation at any time. Marilyn Ferreira and Larry Barr will be looking for Scholarship donations in just a few short months, so why not make those donations now and get the tax deduction in 2015 instead of 2016.
I have written step-by-step instructions, attached, that you can follow to make a donation online, or you can write a check, your choice. The point is that it is easy to do, will benefit the Scholarship and Charitable Giving recipients, and your donation is tax-deductible, saving you tax dollars. I hope that you will consider making a year-end donation, but anytime is just great too.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours in Rotary,
Cathy
