Sheriff Darren Thompson is enjoying his 25th year of public service in law enforcement. He served at the Watsonville Police Department from 1988 until sworn–in as the 15th Sheriff of San Benito County in January of 2011.  Brought into public service by his love for people and passion for justice, Sheriff Thompson served as a patrol officer, detective, training officer, traffic officer, supervisor, and division commander prior to becoming our Sheriff. A resident of Hollister and father of three, his family enjoys fishing and hiking in the outdoors, motorcycling, and playing music.  Sheriff Thompson and his wife will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary soon.
