The Rotary Club of Hollister, through its participation in Area 8 initiatives, is proud to announce significant contributions to several impactful international service projects. These grants, aimed at addressing critical needs in global communities, reflect Rotary's commitment to "Service Above Self" on a worldwide scale. The funding was awarded in two phases.
Phase 1 Awards – December 2024:
The initial round of grants, awarded in December 2024, provided crucial support to the following projects:
- $18,000 in District Designated Funds (DDF) for the provision of two life-saving neonatal ventilators in Colombia.
- $10,000 in DDF to support the construction of a school toilet block in Gbagada South, Nigeria, enhancing sanitation and hygiene for students.
- $10,000 in DDF for a water well project featuring sustainable solar power in Ilorin, Nigeria, providing access to clean water.
Phase 2 Awards – April 2025:
A second set of grants was awarded in April 2025, extending support to further essential international efforts:
- $20,400 in DDF allocated to a Mobile Surgical Unit in Cuenca, Ecuador, expanding access to necessary medical procedures.
- $9,300 in DDF to enhance Palliative Care services in Cuenca, Ecuador, offering comfort and support to patients and their families.
- $3,100 in funding for a Neonatal Equipment Project in Uganda, aimed at improving care for vulnerable newborns.
These international service projects, made possible through dedicated Rotary funding and collaboration, address fundamental needs in health, sanitation, and access to resources. The Rotary Club of Hollister is honored to play a part in these global efforts, making a tangible difference in the lives of many.
