Don't Miss Julie and Scott Jackson Share Great Giant Stories
Julie and Scott Jackson have written and published a book of stories about the Giants baseball team called Great Giants Stories Every Young Fan Should Know. The book goes back to the early days in New York, and covers all the team’s greatest heroes and most memorable moments up through the 2010 and 2012 World Series Champions. Although the book is geared toward young readers, grownups seem to love the book just as much as kids do.

In the last few years, Julie and Scott have spoken at Rotary Club meetings in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and Milpitas, and have had great receptions there. Rotary members enjoy hearing about how the couple came to write the book, how technology is changing the publishing industry, and how they’re independently marketing and selling the book (more than 3,000 copies sold so far!). Julie also reads a chapter from the book, which is a big hit, especially with the many Giants fans in the audience.

Julie and Scott are both humble, engaging, and articulate speakers. Audiences seem to enjoy hearing about their book, which was a genuine do-it-yourself project that combined their longtime love of books and baseball. Many members afterwards commented on how much they enjoyed the fun and entertaining program, and encouraged Scott and Julie to reach out to other Rotary Clubs around the Bay Area.

With the Giants off to a great start in 2014, the topic is both timely and relevant and sure to be a popular draw for Rotary members throughout the Bay Area and Northern California.
