Hollister Rotary Supports San Benito County Science Fair

Congratulations to San Benito County schools science fair winner Nicholas Dhaliwal and recipient of the grand prize donated by Hollister Rotary (family 4 pack of tickets to the Cal Academy of Science and lunch). Registration is now open for the 2016 District Conference.

The conference will be held April 29-May 1, 2016 in San Ramon, CA. The conference will open Friday with lunch at the BlackHawk Automotive Museum. Friday evening through Sunday Morning events will be held at the San Ramon Marriott. Full event details, registration and hotel registration links can be found at http://dc.rotarydistrict5170.org.

Saturday night, April 30 will feature an Interact Talent Competition. Interactors are encouraged to go to www.rotarydistrict5170talentcompetition.com for details on how to enter today. The contest is limited to Interactors in District 5170. Rotarians, please encourage the talented Interactors in your midst to enter the competition!

All Hands on Deck needed for the Area 6 Community Project - Old St. Mary's Cemetary

8am - 5pm

This year's Area 6 Community Project is being lead by the Gilroy Club. The club has chosen to do a cleanup up Old St. Mary's Cemetary. It is very important that we pull together and support our brothers and sisters of our area clubs by lending our support. Please let President Cathy Buck know you will join us. Friends and family are welcome to help as well. Lunch is usually provided by the lead club.

Member Larry Barr to be Honored with Rotary International's Service Above Self Award at District 5170 Conference

Congratulations to our very own Larry Barr who has been selected for Rotary International's Service Above Self Award. The Award Established in 1991 by the RI Board of Directors, the Service Above Self Award is Rotary International’s highest honor for an individual Rotarian who embodies Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self”, with an emphasis on personal volunteer efforts and active involvement in helping others. This is an internationally competitive award, with a maximum of 150 recipients selected worldwide each year, and only one per district.

Please join us on April 30th at the District 5170 conference in San Ramon where Larry will receive his award. Well deserved Larry!
